Our mission
To recruit outstanding doctoral students from all over the world and to give them the opportunity, training and support to develop into highly successful scientists.

BIGS Clinical and Population Science offers students outstanding research conditions in an excellent research environment and access to international research partnerships. Through the wide-ranging and diverse expertise of the faculty members of BIGS Clinical and Population Science, we train PhD students in novel techniques and provide them with exceptional comprehensive knowledge in the fields of clinical studies, epidemiology, genetics, imaging, and statistics.

47% of our PhD students come from abroad, including non-European countries such as Brazil, China, Egypt, Georgian, Iran, Russia, India, Mexico, and Pakistan. 60% of BIGS PhD students are women.

History
The International Graduate School Clinical and Population Science  was  established by scientists of the Faculty of Agriculture, the Faculty of Medicine, the German Center of Neurodegenerative Diseseas, and the Federal Institute of Drugs and Medical Devices in 2016. Also in 2016, the Graduate School became part of the Bonn International Graduate Schools (BIGS) at the University of Bonn and was renamed ´Bonn International Graduate School Clinical and Population Science´ (BIGS CPS).
